Well, think again and take "A Serious Look at Comics" under the direction of Lynda Barry and featuring Paul Buhle (Comics in Wisconsin) and James Danky (Underground Classics: The Transformation of Comics into Comix). Comics have grown-up and so has our appreciation for graphic work that marries text and image. Today’s fans and scholars look at comics as a key element in our understanding of culture, even our lives.
